“From Vision to Impact” event in Europol, The Hague

The OSPREY project participated in Europol’s annual networking and alignment meeting “From Vision to Impact”, held on 7-8 April 2026 at the Europol Headquarters in The Hague, the Netherlands. The event brought together Horizon Europe security projects and Europol to support early engagement, structured cooperation, and alignment with operational priorities.

The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between research and law enforcement, ensuring that project outcomes are relevant, usable, and sustainable beyond the project lifecycle. Discussions covered the role of Europol in security research, uptake and sustainability of project results, operational challenges faced by practitioners, and opportunities for public-private cooperation.

As part of the Fight Against Crime and Terrorism (FCT) projects, OSPREY contributed to the programme through a short presentation and project poster. Martin Snowden (CENTRIC) presented the project’s approach to addressing online harms that target elected officials and police professionals, focusing on understanding the evolving threat landscape, supporting prevention and response, and developing practical, practitioner-led tools.

The meeting reinforced several important points for the OSPREY project, including: the importance of early and continuous engagement with law enforcement stakeholders, the need to ensure operational relevance of project outputs, and the value of collaboration across projects and disciplines.
