OSPREY convened its General Assembly in Rotterdam, at the Erasmus University on 18 and 19 May 2026. Held at the Erasmus University’s Woudestein Campus, the two-day General Assembly marked the first 6 months within the OSPREY project. The first day was opened by keynote speeches from Dr Marcel van Oosterhout, the Director of the Erasmus Centre for Data Analytics at the Erasmus University, Ineke Nierstrasz the Strategic Advisor of International Safety at the City of Rotterdam, C.P.M Smit-Arnold Bik, the National Coordinator on Theme Violence of the Dutch Police and Iris Lokerse from Victim Support Netherlands.

Throughout day 1, consortium partners presented the project’s foundational work, encompassing research work, identified best practices across consortium countries, a synthesis of the existing knowledge base about online harms against public-facing professionals and an analysis of legislation, ethics and policies on protection from online harms. The second day was dedicated to planning technical architecture and tools. The General Assembly closed with project management priorities for the next six months.

“The OSPREY General Assembly represents an important step in translating our foundational research into practical tools and policy recommendations that can make a real difference for those targeted online,” said the OSPREY coordination team.
